This is apparently a new flavor for them, so they too must be trying to expand their product base. Upon opening the bag, I wasn't overwhelmed by the smell of some fakey au gratin smell. They smelled like fresh potatos.
Poore Brothers chips are light and crispy. You get a nice crunchy chip which tastes like your regular potato chip, but the more you crunch, a light au gratin taste begins to bloom.
In comparison, I would not say they are as addictive as the Lays Au Gratin found in our vending machines, but it doesn't detract from the fact that these are a nice light snack which doesn't go overboard with artificial flavoring.
