A very depressing week for the vending machine, as they have gone back to a
very generic selection. Do you realize EVERY item I've reviewed so far has
been removed from the vending machine?? The vending machine people must be
accessing my vendor reviews homepage...it's a conspiracy.
Barbecue chips, for some reason, have a niche in the Potato chips industry; I've never understood why. Cheese, sour cream, chives, and au-gratin are all normal or socially acceptable ways to add flavor to potatos. I don't know of anyone who just has a baked potato and some barbecue sauce poured over it.
Anyway, Lay's chips are very light and thin; not much constitution to them as a chip. Adding "KC Masterpiece" to the title seems to be just a veiled attempt to add some credability to it's barbecue chips, for the flavor did not come forth as something distinct that could stand apart from other barbecue chips. In fact, upon looking at the ingredients, I did not see KC Masterpiece barbecue sauce as an ingredient, and I doubt the ingredients listed are a superset of the barbecue sauce either. Why say it tastes like it, when it doesn't?
Just another barbecue potato chip.
