HEALTH SERVICES
The school health services at Kennedy Middle School include two full time nurses. If at any time you feel that you need to use the services of our school nurse, ask your teacher for a pass to go to the nurse.
Parents will be notified by telephone when it becomes necessary to dismiss a pupil due to illness. Your parents are responsible for your transportation home. Parents arriving at school to pick up a sick child should report to the Main Office. Home accidents are not treated by the school nurse.
By Statute, physical exams are now conducted in Grade 6 and 10 and no longer required in Grade 7.
State Law now requires that every child be immunized before entering school. Incoming 7th graders must receive a second measles immunization before being permitted to enter 7th grade. Failure to present medical evidence of complete immunization will result in exclusion from school - there are no exceptions to the Statute.
In addition, Scoliosis Screening and Hearing Tests are required by Statute. Failure to take the exams at school or to present medical evidence of same will result in exclusion.
