Treasure Beach
This is a series of wonderful pictures taken by Trisha St. Germain at Great Bay, Treasure Beach over a period of a few years.
Great Bay is in the southeast corner of Treasure Beach in St. Elizabeth Parish and is some two hours by car from Negril, past Savanna-La-Mar, Whitehouse and Black River along the coast.
The parish has a hot and breezy climate drier than the rest of Jamaica due to the high rain-blocking Santa Cruz mountains just to the north. The almost non-stop breeze comes in off the prevailing southeast trade winds. The wind at night, whooshing and whistling through the coconut fronds and the thatch roof, is warm and magical. The whole area is non-touristy, spectacular cacti abound, the vistas and photo-ops are myriad and the memories are endless.
