• Slashdot - News for Nerds. Stuff that Matters. Slashdot is a web digest that carries links to interesting tech and computer and nerd stories and lets people comment on them.
• Need to Know - An online newsletter that's another good source of news and gossip.
• Techdirt - Another web digest site which carries links to intersting stories. Like Slashdot, but with more of a professional slant.

Hardware

• Tom's Hardware Guide - A very nicely done guide to motherboards and CPUs, with additional sections on overclocking, hard drives and performance issues. 
• PriceWatch - Search the net for the best deals on computer hardware and software.
• Reseller Ratings - Is that online reseller reputable?  What kinds of experiences have other shoppers had?   Check here and find out.
  
• Ars Technica - a hardware review site and meta-site linking to otherhardware sites.
• AnandTech - Anand Lal Shimpi's hardware review site.

• Consummate Winsock Apps List - VERY good source for Winsock apps!
