Two scholarships are awarded to college students who meet the criteria set by the national order.  A matching grant is provided by the national order's Daedalian Foundation.  The scholarships are named for our late Founder members, Jerry Hughes and Cal Seavey.  This year's Hughes scholarship was awarded to Robert E. LaMontagne; the Seavey scholarship was awarded to Corey Aiken.   Robert and Corey (both ROTC Cadets at the University of New Hampshire) will enter the Air Force flight training program upon graduation.

Past national scholarship recipients:
1998 - Oakley Kellner  (Hughes)
1998 - Molly McGirr  (Seavey)
1997 - 2Lt Eric R. Gaulin  (now at Pensacola NAS, FL)
1996 - 2Lt Matthew Boyer  (at Columbus AFB, MS)
1995 - 1Lt Richard Morneau  (at Pope AFB, SC)
1994 - 1Lt Bill Poteet  (at Osan AB, Korea; transferring to Aviano AB, Italy)

Two additional Flight 53 Education Fund scholarships are awarded to local students who are working toward their private license.  The recipients of the 1999 scholarships,  Katie Bray and Hannah Czarick, log their flight training time at the Hampton Airfield.

There are two special scholarships which have been awarded to Will Borrowman and Kevin Acker, who are postgraduate students at Daniel Webster College, Nashua, NH.

The annual Daedalian Medal goes this year to Cadet 2Lt. George Gardener III, of Lewiston High School, Maine, and Cadet M/Sgt Paul Jacques of Spaulding High School, Dover, NH.
