Aardy R. DeVarque is the pseudonym of my husband, Joel Andrew Hahn. The aardvark thing started as a high-school theatre joke, and it's now a trend. He's from Addison, IL, and he's a wonderful guy. : ) The night we met at Valparaiso University, he was dressed up as Elwood from the Blues Brothers. Gotta love it, yes?

My dear husband is into many things: roleplaying, comics, books, music, and library science. If you want to hear more about any of those things, go visit Aardy's homepage. It's chock full of comic book awards archives, roleplaying game ratings pages, perl and macro scripting lessons, and the like. In his spare time, Aardy is the keeper of the rec.games.frp.dnd FAQ. You can visit the rec.games.frp.dnd newsgroup for all of your Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying needs. Aardy and a friend had a Dungeons and Dragons, module selected for use at GenCon-- it's called Aviary Heir, and it's a hoot! When he isn't playing D&D, Aardy is trying to track down comic books or Magic: The Gathering cards painted by comic book writers and artists Phil and Kaja Foglio. Phil also did the art for the board game RoboRally, which is really twisted and a lot of fun! Check it out.

Aardy is also a Sinfonian: a member of the most awesome music fraternity in the United States. See the national Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Men's Music Fraternity page, or check out Valparaiso's own Kappa Sigma chapter. He likes to play a whole range of brass instruments, usually the Baritone or the Euphonium. And believe me, these guys can sing! The wedding serenade was beautiful.

Aardy is a librarian-type person. He's currently employed in the Technical Services department at Niles Public Library, one of the libraries in the North Suburban Library System. This means that he does copy-cataloguing of books and other library materials, and does a little bit of programming on the side. He also does his best to convince the library that comics are a good thing. Right now, Aardy is working towards his Master of Library and Information Science Degree from Dominican University. (As a side note, the NSLS Home Page has a superb collection of links and WWW search engines, just as any library should.)
