3. Joseph Carl³ Ogden (Frank Carl², John S¹) (#302) was born in Amherst County, Virginia April 16, 1918. Joseph died December 14, 1949 at 31 years of age.

He married Mamie Louise Whitten October 25, 1938. (Mamie Louise Whitten is #301.) Mamie was born December 26, 1921. Mamie is the daughter of Patrick Devereaux Whitten and Effie Loving Nuckols.

Joseph Carl Ogden and Mamie Louise Whitten had the following children:

+ 12 i. Cary Mitchell⁴ Ogden.

13 ii. Carolyn Lee Ogden (#309). She married Carl Carter. (Carl Carter is #310.) (See Carl Carter for the continuation of this line.)
