He married Frances Whitten in Nathalie, Halifax County, Virginia, September 27, 1941. (Frances Whitten is #347.) Frances was born in Mecklenburg County, Virginia July 22, 1917. Frances was the daughter of Joshua Babcock Whitten and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Anne Crowder.

James Earl Morris and Frances Whitten had the following child:

3 i. Helen Gail³ Morris (#351) was born in Lynchburg, Lynchburg, Virginia June 16, 1954. She married twice. She married John Harvey Young in Lynchburg, Lynchburg, Virginia, June 18, 1977. (John Harvey Young is #2780.) John was born in Lynchburg, Lynchburg, Virginia December 28, 1953. John is the son of John S. Young Dr and Louise Blanks. (See John Harvey Young for the continuation of this line.) She married John Harvey Young July 18, 1977. (John Harvey Young is #352.) John is the son of Dr. John Sedgwick Young and Louise B. Young.
