1. John David¹ Whitmore (#470) was born in Augusta County, Virginia July 22, 1884. John died November 18, 1964 at 80 years of age. His body was interred in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia, Amherst Cemetery.

He married twice. He married Myrtle T. Whitten September 13, 1912. (Myrtle T. Whitten is #86.) Myrtle was born January 19, 1889. Myrtle was the daughter of Augustus Devereaux (Dev) Whitten and Mary Jane Clements. Myrtle died May 1916 at 27 years of age. He married Lucille Allen Whitten November 24, 1920. (Lucille Allen Whitten is #90.) Lucille was born in Willow, Amherst County, Virginia February 16, 1901. Lucille was the daughter of Augustus Devereaux (Dev) Whitten and Mary Jane Clements. Lucille died October 3, 1992 at 91 years of age.

John David Whitmore and Myrtle T. Whitten had the following child:

+ 2 i. John Divers² Whitmore was born September 13, 1913.

John David Whitmore and Lucille Allen Whitten had the following children:

+ 3 ii. Vernon Ray Whitmore was born November 22, 1929.

+ 4 iii. David C. Whitmore was born December 12, 1935.
