Now on permanent display in the Great Hall of the Myhr Zoological Gardens (Siber. Earth), the NOVA STONE has attracted over eight million visitors who have come just to view the stone and to ponder its origin and meaning. Found in 3030 near the Vela supernova remnant, by the USS Starship Houston, the 9 meter long nickel/iron column has evoked more speculation than any other single artifact found in space. The photo (above) shows it moments before retrieval. What do the markings on its sides mean? Who made them? When and where? The answers to these and myriad other questions may remain forever unanswered. But it stands today in the Great Hall as a symbol of the mystery and wonder that attends the exploration of the cosmos.
