The Tsailerol live on a world that some regard as a mirror
of Earth. Certainly the Tsai themselves are physiologically closest
to human of any known extraterrestrial life form. They are carbon-based
oxygen users who produce internal heat by metabolizing food. There
the similarities end. In this image we see human colonists living
in close harmony with the Tsai. Their culture is being studied
closely to determine how evolutionary differences occur in species
on worlds with similar biochemical makeup.
Human children play in a Tsai Nest, where Tsailerol children grow
in the company of the Pisps that grow at the edge of the
nest. When mature the Tsai children and the Pisps will be joined
in a lifetime releationship.
Pisps (called "sensory surrogates" by human observers),
live permanently on the heads of host Tsailerol, providing the
Tsai greater intellectual power and something like human intuition
in return for their free ride.
