ABOUT ME

Personal Information:

I am married to Shulamit Kahn. Shu is also my coauthor on a number of economics articles including some with really catchy titles like "Efficient Estimation of Structural Hedonic Systems." Shu is active in the community. She currently serves as a Vice President of Kehillath Israel. We have two children, Ariella and Jenya. Ariella graduated from Devotion and from Brookline High School. She is currently studying at Washington University in St. Louis where so far she is focussing on mathematics (and particularly statistics). Jenya graduated from Devotion and is currently a freshman at BHS. Among her many activities at BHS are soccer and wrestling.

Also, you've probably figured out by now that I am color-blind. My apologies if the color combinations on this site don't work. :-)

Education

After being "invited to leave" my New York city high school because of anti-war activity, I studied in England. I earned a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University. I then received an MSc in economics from l'université de Montréal and went on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where I got my PhD in economics.
