Meetings

Social activities sponsored by the KT/DA include regular meetings at which refreshments are served, and patients and family members can get together in an informal, non-medical setting. Most meetings feature a presentation by a health professional. Currently, five or six meetings are held throughout the year in the Boston area.

“Food, Mood and Holiday Stress—staying healthy in mind, body and soul.” Presenting will be Louise Riemer, MS, APRN, Clinical Advisor, Transplant Unit, Noelle Dimitri, LICSW, renal social worker, Asha Kasaranani, MS, RD, renal nutritionist, and Linda Walsh, RN, Transplant Coordinator. Refreshments will be served. The discussion will encompass diet, meds, labs, etc., for both dialysis and transplant patients. The speakers promise to make it interactive and fun.
NOTE: 110 Francis St. is on the corner of the Riverway and Brookline Ave., right across from the Emergency Room at the BIDMC. There is an adjacent parking garage. For wheelchair access, park on the ground level.
