Dear Friends,
I am sure by now you have heard the good news regarding the Parole Board's favorable 5-0 decision to grant my husband, Gerald Amirault, a commutation. We are a step closer to winning his freedom but we still have far to go. Governor Jane Swift will now decide whether or not she agrees with the Parole Board's decision. If she rules in our favor, the commutation petition would then move on to the Governor's Council.
We again need your help. There are a few things we are asking everyone to do. First, please write to Governor Jane Swift, as soon as possible, recommending that she grant the commutation. Second, circulate the enclosed petitions and mail directly to the Governor when completed. Feel free to make more copies if needed. If you know of other people who would also be able to help please forward this request and copies of this petition to them as well. We really want the Governor to know that there is community support for his release.
If we are successful at this level, we will again be contacting you to help us contact the members of the Governor's Council.
We know we can count on all of you to help us as you have so many times in the past. This is a very crucial time! With your help we hope to be soon reunited as a family/ Please act "swiftly."
With Gratitude,
Patti
