2000 Baseball

Goal This Year:
36 games, same as 1999. Last
year was pretty sad, but I can't back down. Happiness is getting
Red Sox tickets the day they go on sale (I won't sit in section 4
ever again!!) ... every day should be so good. |

realized with horror that
our Jan 15 Sec 25 tickets are all home-plate obstructed (but can see
Wendell Kim just fine). I was happy to see CJ
and sad he didn't last very long. |

couldn't have been
a better game ... the Friendly Confines are! and a splendid
place to watch a game in 30-degree weather. The Cubs rallied in the
bottom of the 10th after half the park left. Yippee!!! |

convinced the older Italian guys next
to us to stay till the end. when you come all the way from Italy to
see Fenway Park, what are you going to do?? Seeing him use his son's
cell phone like a walkie-talkie killed me. :-) |

They don't serve hot dogs
until the 3rd inning up there. Too bad for us Jeff Fassero threw about
85 pitches in the first two innings. Welcome back Lou Merloni: 3 for
5, 1 error. |

3-hour

but smirky Dan Duquette
held the door for me in my T-shirt. Another rain delay but they started
serving hot dogs early. Hard to see Garcia blow it. |

This
was much harder to watch, as sad as yesterday was. Bases loaded in
the eighth and Nomar strikes out, continuing his slump. |

7:45 am is a bad time to
realize there is no longer a Dunkin Donuts in Kenmore Sq. ... Carlton
Fisk Day ... Pedro 8 innings, 11K (3 A-Rod, 3 Wilson), 1 walk. Bichette
finally hit, yah. And finally, Lansing's out of the lineup. |

Second game of the first double-header.
A loser in every way, plus no cleaning in between games. I would have
made do if there'd been a win to sit through. And that's why ya sit
on the third base side ... TO WATCH RHEAL LET VIZQUEL STEAL HOME!!!!
Unbelievable. |

OK, REALLY
the last time I sit in the bleachers. Second game of the second double-header.
Pain, pain, there was only pain. |

Simply a heartbreaking end, at the
very end of the game. I wanted Gilkey to run, I did. Did Wendell in.
Waaah. |
