One night I decided to write my son a poem.
It was very late at night. It had snowed earlier in the evening,
and we'd spent some time kneeling up on the couch,
looking out at the snowflakes and making frost flowers
on the windows. Now he'd fallen asleep on the couch,
and as I stood looking at his sweet and peaceful face,
this is what fell out of my fingertips.
Enjoy!

Joyful, Joyful

They seem so strange and beautiful, the stars tonight…
They gleam and glitter, set in a velvet black sky.
Diamonds glistening against the crystals in the snow.

It's like so many nights -
But these star-diamonds dance and sparkle
Like the smiles that sparkle in your eyes
And I see the perfection in the world tonight

Joyful, joyful, Lord, it's just so full of joy.

I stand here tonight in amazement
Bowed before the beauty of such simple things
So many tears have lead to this night
Finally we have this night of peace
Looking to the promises
Of all the bright tomorrows.

Angels battled and wrestled to the ground
Times you crawled up into my lap,
Weeping from the trials of your day,
And I rocked you back and forth, and back and forth,
and held onto you, and just prayed.
It all seems like a dream to me now.
In the silence of this whispered night.

I listen, as the wind slides between the bare branches
A peace flowing through my soul.
A gift from heaven, a jewel, a pearl of such beauty.
Peace and grace are our gifts
As you are God's gift to me.

I can see in your face
All the promises
Of all your dreams
All the peaceful nights
Will now lead to peaceful days

In the golden light of dawn
Joy will surround you,
Earth and heaven reflect
The brightness of your eyes

Sometimes we felt so lost
Wandering as if in a darkened wood
Fearful of the creatures that lurked within
Yet the path was true, and you kept the faith
You've tried so hard, done your best.
And now peace reigns in brightness
With joy.

So, tonight, looking at the diamonds in the sky
My heart sings with joy

Joyful, joyful!

As tears well up
Overwhelmed by the miracle of you,
And by joy.

If you liked this poem, why not share it, and make someone else smile today?

Instructions:

E-Mail: If you want to send this to another friend, (and please feel free to do so!) simply right click on the url you will see up there on the tool bar at the top of the page, and copy it.  Then paste it into an e-mail to your friend, inviting them to come see this page, that you have a special message you want them to see!  This is the easiest way to send this page to someone else.

Send the link: With Internet Explorer, on your toolbar, at the top of the page, click on "file", then "send" and select "send link by e-mail" It works pretty much the same with Netscape, too...   Don't select "send PAGE by e-mail", by the way, as it will then insert the entire page into your e-mail letter, and the graphics won't show up on the other end... and it will be annoying...  Just send the link.

ICQ: On ICQ it's even easier!   Simply open up your ICQ console, with this site open as well, and click on the name of someone on your contact list and then click on  where is says "Webpage Address (URL)", and the address will be sent to them automatically!  You can also click on the little "more" button, and send this page to more than one user, all at the same time, through ICQ! (Fun, isn't it?)

Web TV: If you are a webTV user and all you do is hit OPTIONS while you have this page open, then put the box around SEND and key in e-mail address you want to send it to, and hit SEND.
