Clack Sound Studios is located in the heart of New York City. It was founded in 1970 by Thomas Courtenay Clack, an English expatriate who had worked for the BBC as studio manager. Clack's client base consists of Advertising Agencies as well as Cable Networks. Clack Sound Studios is responsible for about 80% of the sound for MTV and Nickelodeon's on air promotions. At Clack, we offer a relaxed attitude free environment with quality work. When you come to Clack it's like going to your friends studio apartment to work. Tom has assembled some of the best and most unique engineers in the city. Clack men are not just fader pushers, they bring their own unique creativity to each and every job. We offer a full range of services. The facility has 4 mix to picture suites all equipped with Digital Audio Workstations (2 Avid AudioVisions, ProTools, AMS AudioFile, Fairlight MFX3). All with layback capabilities to virtually any video format. All rooms are also OMF compatible so you can just bring your hard drive over from your Media Composer, plug it in and pick up where you left off! Allowing for more creative time and less digitization time.We also have an immense sound effect and music library. The sound effect library features effects recorded and created by Tom Clack, master of SFX (See Clack Sounds).

Studio B is equipped with an AMS AudioFile DAW and a Logic 3 digital console. Both the DAW and the console are digitally interfaced, so there's no need to ever leave the digital domain. The console is fully automated, so you can do your micro tweaks in the mix and it's also got snapshot recall so revising that year old spot is just a button-push away. There's also plenty of MIDI gear and outboard effects for composing and sound design. Studio B also features a terrace for when you need a little reality break. Engineer: John Terelle.

Sound Library: Clack's music library features over 3,000 CD's from the most popular stock music companies in the world. From cutting edge tracks to archival recordings, from orchestral grandiosity to synthesized cheese, we've got it. The sound effects library consists of the Sound Ideas, Hollywood Edge, Valentino, Hannah Barbera, and Warner Brothers Libraries (to name a few) and features over 500 reels of unique effects recorded and created by Tom Clack. The Clack sound effects library has sounds not found in stock libraries. For example, a stock kitchen blender effect may consist of a few on and offs, & maybe blending a milk shake. A Clack effect will have the ons the offs the blending milk shake, but then it goes a step further: the blender loses control, the top flies off sending ice cream & milk hurling through the air and splattering all over the place!
