Private
lessons:
CompanionAbility
LLC offers private lessons in your home
Private
lessons are one hour in length.
CompanionAbility
LLC reserves the right to assess an additional fee of $ 75.00 to cover the time
involved in writing behavior management plans, when such plans are deemed
necessary.
CompanionAbility
LLC reserves the right to assess a thirty cents per mile travel expense fee, in
addition to the lesson fee, for clients
living outside the area bounded on the west by I 294, on the north by Clavey
Road, and on the south by I 290, or if one-way travel time exceeds 45 minutes
on a regular basis.
CompanionAbility
LLC reserves the right to charge clients for parking lot fees when street
parking is difficult or not available.
Group
courses: CompanionAbility LLC offers
Baby Puppy for puppies 7 to 16 weeks of age; Puppy, for puppies over 16 weeks
and under 6 months of age; Pre-teen puppy for puppies 6 to 10 months of age; Basic
obedience for dogs 10 months and over; Advanced Beginner, for puppies 6 months
of age and up, who have had previous training;
Canine Good Citizenship Courses; Build Your Own Group Class.
Group
Courses are limited to six puppies or dogs.
CGC Courses are limited to 7 dogs.
Group Courses are offered in six week course sessions.
Take
advantaged of the reduced hourly rates by signing up during the early
registration period. The early
registration fee must be paid in full, by the end of the early registration
period in order to receive this fee.
CGC materials are included in the fee.
Additional,
private reinforcement lessons with a group class are $35/hr.
Dogs,
over the age of twelve months, who have had no prior obedience training must
complete CompanionAbility LLC’s basic
obedience training before taking another group course.
Dogs,
over the age of twelve months, who have had basic obedience training from any
trainer other than CompanionAbility LLC will be eligible for an Advanced
Beginner or Intermediate at the
discretion of the CompanionAbility LLC, and only after receiving at least one
private lesson for the purpose of assessing the suitability of a group
course. The number of private lessons
will be determined on a case by case basis.
The initial private lesson will be billed at $75 per hour.
If the trainer determines that more basic obedience lessons are
required, then a block of 6 private lessons will be recommended. In that case, the initial lesson will
constitute the first of 6 lessons and will be applied to that fee.
Tracking:
tracking if offered privately or for groups.
Baby
Buggy classes are offered to expectant parents, as private lessons, or group
courses.
CompanionAbility
LLC reserves the right to require at least one private lesson with any puppy
and/or dog who has not gone through previous CompanionAbility LLC training,
before determining a suitable group course or the suitability of Lessons du
jour.
There
will be a $100.00 non-refundable deposit charged to hold a group course space. The deposit will be applied to the balance of
the group class fee when payment, in full is made.
After
Early Registration, payment in full is expected on the first night of class.
A
refund for the full group course fee, less $100.00 will be given, upon written
request, within 24 hours after the first group class session. After 24 hours, no refund will be given.
CompanionAbility
LLC reserves the right to make adjustments to fees for those clients who have
special financial needs.
Other services for clients:
CompanionAbility
LLC offers special fees and services to our previous clients*.
Rent
our ring for one hour of play or practice with your dog for $10.00. The fee includes the option of bringing one
well behaved canine playmate of your choice. This is not a drop off service. Owner must attended and supervise all play
and interactions between the dogs.
Discounts
on private or group lessons.
Drop
in to group classes for free. You must
call ahead to be sure of available space in any given group class. Limit two free drop ins, per calendar year.
Lessons
du jour: These classes are designed to help clients
master specific skills at their own pace.
These classes could be group classes or privates, depending on the night
in question. The fee for these classes is $10.00. The classes are held at CompanionAbility
LLC. This schedule changes
frequently. Clients must call our office
before

Other services:
CompanionAbility
LLC has ring rental available to trainers using dog-friendly methods. The ring space is 904 square feet, (23' x
40'). You must have current dog trainers
insurance, and provide proof of insurance.
Please call to reserve space.
Rescue
organizations may reserve the ring to show case dogs in their care or in foster
care. Please call to reserve space. CompanionAbility LLC reserves the right to
charge a deposit to cover the costs of any clean up that would be greater than
average. The deposit will be returned at
the end of the event, assuming an average clean up. Volunteers to stay after the event to clean
up would be greatly appreciated.
Limitations and
Indemnification:
While
dog training is not an exact science, and therefore, CompanionAbility LLC
cannot guarantee specific results, CompanionAbility LLC will make reasonable
efforts to achieve the goals set forth in the Training Plan.
Owner
agrees to indemnify and hold CompanionAbility LLC harmless from all liability
for any loss, damage or injury to persons, animals or property arising from or
related to Owner’s pet. Owner agrees
that CompanionAbility LLC shall not be liable for loss or damage to animal for
any reason unless said loss or damage was a direct result of CompanionAbility
LLC’s negligence.
Discounted fees and promotions:
CompanionAbility
LLC may offer discounts for group courses or private lessons at any time. Discount offers may be revoked without
notice.
Discounts
may be given to dogs from shelters or rescue groups. Special Coupons may be provided under these
circumstances.
Donations
of up to 10% of a total group class fee, minus any other discounts or
promotions may be made, by CompanionAbility LLC, to the breed health foundation
or breed rescue group associated with the breed of any breeder who refers
individual clients who complete at least one CompanionAbility LLC course.
Cancellations and
Absenteeism:
CompanionAbility
LLC will make reasonable efforts to make up any class/es which it may have to
cancel.
CompanionAbility
LLC will make reasonable efforts to provide a make up class for any private
student who is unable to attend a class, but cannot guarantee availability.
There
are no make up classes provided for group classes.
Canine Health Concerns:
Proof
of current vaccinations is required at the time of registration for class for
all dogs and puppies enrolled in group classes.
Dogs
and puppies with the following symptoms should not be brought to group class
for at least one week: coughing; diarrhea, vomiting, discharge from the nose or
eyes or a diagnosis of intestinal parasites.
CompanionAbility LLC strongly recommends dogs or puppies with any of the
above symptoms be seen by a veterinarian.
Behavior Problems:
All
dogs whose owners have sought consultations for behavior problems must be seen
for at least one private lesson, before a determination can be made as to the
suitability of a group class.
CompanionAbility
LLC reserves the right to decline services to any dog with behavior problems.
Lesson Reviews:
CompanionAbility
LLC will provide an outline for each group class. The outline will constitute a syllabus for
each class.
CompanionAbility
LLC will provide written lesson reviews, to assist the clients in their weekly
practice.
CompanionAbility
LLC will provide an outline and lesson review for private lesson clients. We may provide a written training plan for
private lesson clients.
Reference Permission:
As a
courtesy, CompanionAbility LLC will make reasonable efforts to obtain written
permission from clients to give their names and phone numbers to perspective
clients for the purpose of providing references.

Changes in Policy and
Procedures:
Policy and Procedures may be amended as
necessary.
