Moses Horton lived in Ashford ( is in the 1790 census) and married Silance
Willison there on December 3, 1780. (or Oct 17, 1780). Silance died in Ashford
September 18, 1848. Their son Solomon was born Oct 20, 1787. Do you have

I am seeking information on the wife of Shubal (Shubeal) Preston of Ashford,
Connecticut. He was born Nov. 20, 1758 and died Oct. 17, 1846. He married
his wife Asenath sometime before 1800. She died on March 13, 1829 and was
buried in Little York cemetary, Little York, Cortland Co., New York, aged
60 years, 3 months. This places her birth approx. Dec. 1768. If anyone could
please help in finding Asenath's maiden name, I would be very grateful!

I am looking for information about Samuel Sumner born 4 Oct 1764 in Ashford
Twp, Windham Co., CT. Samuel was the son of Edward Sumner born 1728 and
Experience ? born abt 1733. I have been searching for my ancestor Samuel
Sumner for years with no results and so I have broadened my search to include
any Samuel Sumner born 1750 - 1765 or thereabouts. My Samuel died in 1787
in Montgomery Co, VA. He married Winifred Combs and had 4 children. Does
anyone have any more information on the Samuel Sumner from Ashford Twp?
Could he possibly be the same Samuel who died in Montgomery Co., VA? If
anyone has any information that could at least eliminate this Samuel Sumner,
I would be very grateful.

I am researching my father's family. ANDREW WATERS was born in Ashford,
c. 1828. He had a twin, HENRY WATERS and an older brother EDWARD BUGBEE
WATERS, parents CHARLES WATERS AND BETSY BUGBEE. Charles' father was JONATHAN,
1759 - 1839. He is buried in the Ashford cemetery. His wife may have been
MARY PARKHURST. There may have been a 2nd wife. His parents were DANIEL
WATERS AND LUCY SPAULDING, married 1756. Daniel's parents were DAVID WATERS
and MARGERY WHITMORE. We would appreciate help filling in th many holes.

told that he was the youngest son of Zera Preston of Ashford and Zera's
last wife, However I have not been able to prove this . The family bible
has reference's to Walkers and other Ashford names.....Zera Preston (2)
lived most of his life in Roxbury New York among other Preston's from Ashford
and Windham, ..... He was very involved in the Anti-Rent wars in upstate

Looking for information on John S. Bartlett b. 2/27/1810 d. 1/16/1852 m.
Louisa M Moore (daughter of Samuel and Amy Moore (Whiton) in Union 1834.
Marriage Cert. states John was from Ashford. I have been unable to find
John's parents. I have found land records at the CSL from Ashbel Whiton
to John S Bartlett mentions Juilana Whiton. (Possible relation to Louisa
John's wife.) (Deeds 1835-1842) very hard to read. John and Louisa are buried
in Union. Any help as to John's parents would be greatly appreciated. UPDATE:
Today I found some additional info at the Ashford town hall. John S. Bartlett's
siblings are Danforth (Danford), Mary, and Stephen. Their guardian was a
John or Elisa Scarborough of Ashford. Their mother was Polly Bartlett. All
found in deeds. The first sale was Mary to John S in 1833. Inherited from
mother Polly as all other parcels.

Well... I'm at a deadend..... I found this in the town records at Ashford
and I can't get back any further? Were these ALL the same woman? Was she
the town prostitute? How do I prove paternity of someone born over 175 years
ago? These were all listed on the same page in a row... like she came into
the registrar and reported them all at once, herself. Anyone have any ideas?
