I will be visiting the Hampstead area in late June seeking my ancestors Michael and Mary (HANCOCK) JOHNSON. Michael was born perhaps 1686 in either Northern Ireland or Scotland, and died at Hampstead 25 Aug 1746. Mary was born perhaps 1698, also either in Scotland or Northern Ireland, and according to Noyes is buried beside her husband. They and one of their sons are supposedly buried in the Center Ground Cemetery. No other information is available. I am hoping to be able to read both gravestones. Can someone please tell me where the Center Ground Cemetery is located, and if there is an inventory of graves for it? Dean Wolbach, San Jose CA

WEBSTER/PAGE

I have a copy of an old Webster Bible page. It states that Joseph Webster, b 4-4-1778 married Hannah Page 3-14-1802. Joseph was the son of Joseph Webster, Sr and Mary Sawyer Webster of Hampstead. My problem is that the back of the page says that a Hannah Webster died 7-14-1804. I don't know if that is Joseph's Hannah Webster who died two years after their wedding or another Hannah Webster. I checked your marriage records to see if Joseph got married again but they don't go to the 1800s. I need someone to look at the vital records of Hamstead to see if Joseph's wife died and/or he married again.

Searching for information on the Arnold's. I know there is (or was) a home they lived in (we have a picture), but haven't been able to find it. We're descendants of Thomas F. Arnold, b. c. 1834, whose grandfather was Thomas Arnold (Lieutenant), d. 11 Nov 1820 (age 67) in Hampstead, NH - Pension-W15978. Any information you might have about the family would be much appreciated. Also, information about how I would look up the Pension would be great too.

I am interested in hearing from anyone else who is descended from or knows about Samuel & Mehitable (Heath) Worthen of Timberlane/Haverhill, about whom I know very little other than their ancestry. Their son-in-law Isaac Foster (who resided Hampstead in 1750s and was a F&I War soldier) c.1760 moved to Nova Scotia with his brother Ezekiel Foster, parents Benjamin & Sarah (Woodward) Foster, and siblings. I have much info on these folks (including two of Isaac's brothers who returned to NH) and would be willing to share.

I have a query dated May 1998, with an old email address. I am still researching the Johnsons, Michael and Mary (Hancock) of Hampstead. They came about 1728 from Londonderry NH. Before that, probably from either Northern Ireland or Scotland. I would like to make contact with other people researching this line.
