Thomas FEELEY(FEELY) and Maria BARLOW, both from Co. Roscommon in Ireland
appear as parents in Pomfret, CT birth records from 1864-1872. 6 children
were born John, Catherine, Maria, unnamed female, and 2 others. I would
like to know who John, born April 2, 1864, married. The marriage date would
be circa 1882. The bride's vitals, parent's names and children's names would
be great. I believe my grandmother Annie FEELEY to be the oldest of 10 children.
The occupation of Thomas was listed as laborer and then farmer. If so. did
he rent or own the land? Where was the farm located? Did son John also farm
the land. John's daughter Annie moved to River Point,(Warwick, RI), along
with her living brother and sisters. Could the railroad or mill work have
been the reason? Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

In the Sabin Cemetery there is a Richard Kenyon buried in the John Ash and
Catherine Annie Kenyon family plot. He was born in 1866 and died in 1906.
Does the Pomfret Town clerk have records to show who his parents were and

The name Richard probably came from Catherine's maternal grandfather, Richard.

Seeking more information on Dr. Seldom Burdon OVERLOCK. His middle name
of BURDON may have been his mother's maiden name. He was chief of staff
for Day-Kimball Hospital, Putnam, Windham Co., Connecticut. The early years
of the hospital's history is best defined by the then Chief of Staff Dr.
Seldom Burdon OVERLOCK. Doctor OVERLOCK was an imposing (tall and in later
years somewhat heavy set). His practice spanned all aspect of medicine and
surgery. He was born in Maine on 13 November 1859 and was trained at Bellevue
Hospital Medical College in New York City (graduated in 1889). He practiced
for 5 years in Steuben Maine before coming to Pomfret and Putnam in 1894
(the year the hospital was being built). Also during his career Dr. OVERLOCK
was President of the Connecticut State Medical Society during 1908 and 1909.
Dr. OVERLOCK died at home 08 October 1934 at age 74 after a long illness.
His home was located on the corner of Routes 169 & 44 in Pomfret, CT.
The house burned down. And all that remained was the horse barn, which is
now the home of "The Vanilla Bean Cafe". I'm trying to find out
who his parents were. And also if he was married and to whom. And if he
had any children. Any information will be helpful. Also Dr. OVERLOCK was
known to keep an extensive scrapbook on the goings on of his life and the
Day-Kimball Hospital. I'm also in search of the person holding that scrapbook
if it still exists. So far it seems all OVERLOCK families can be traced
back to one OVERLOCK family that came to Maine from Germany.

I am at the proverbial brick wall and am hopeful some of the mysteries can
be unravelled in Windham County, CT. My g-g-g-g-grandfather's name was Philip
Cole. He and wife Mary (maiden name unknown) lived in Berkshire County,
MA from at least 1775 until they moved to Rutland County, VT in 1793. They
had seven children all born in either Windsor or Williamstown. Their names
were Lucy, Philenda, Mary, Anna, Olive, Philip, and my g-g-g-grandfather,
Ezra. All of the children were born between 1776 and 1790. I have been unable
to uncover any info on Philip for the time period before 1775, including
where he was married. Ezra died in 1862 in Marion, Waushara County, WI.
He is buried in Marion Cemetery along with his wife Venlora Leach-Stratton.
Adjacent to their graves is the grave of Byron Cole. Byron was born in 1831
in Cattaraugus Co., NY to Daniel Mansfield Cole and Polly Bigelow who, prior
to living in Cattaraugus lived in Windham County, VT. I am certain Byron
is related to Ezra and I am hopeful if I can determine this connection,
a number of other doors will open that will give me info on Philip. Since
Philip's oldest child was born in 1776, I am making the assumption Philip
was born between 1745 and 1755. (He did serve under the command of Captain
Nathan Watkins in the Revolutionary War). I have been able to find only
two Philip Cole's that were born anywhere in the U.S. during this time period.
One was born in 1744 to Israel Cole and Remember Burgess, and the other
was born in 1745 to Samuel Cole and his wife, Patience. The latter was born
in Pomfret, Windham, CT. Since Windham is the common denominator, am I reaching
here in assuming there may be a connection? Is there a Pomfret, Windham,
VT too? Can anyone shed some light in to my very dark corner?

1 Leah Scott - therefore, I want to try to document the lineage of the Leah

Request information on a JOHN (J) WEST. The following information is provided.
I have been researching my family roots for some time. I have traced the
family males back through Holyoke, MA to Woodstock, CT and to England. However,
to double check and fill in the blanks I discovered in the 1840 CT census
a John West residing in Pomfret, CT. Subsequently, the 1860 CT census reflects
a John West in Woodstock, CT. but none for Pomfret, CT. I believe both of
these JOHN WEST are the same. I have not located the arrival of JOHN WEST
from England to the USA but this discovery could help. I believe JOHN WEST
was born between 1812-1823 and his listed occuptions were always farming/gardnering.
Prior to and between 1856 and 1860 he must have moved from Pomfret and married
Mary Moore (from Ireland) somewhere in or around New York, because their
first child Ellen F. West was born there in Feb 1856. I assume they returned
to CT but to Woodstock, CT where they stayed until the 1870's. They had
a large family and moved to Holyoke, MA as the 1880 MA census shows them
there. Their second child, also a girl, Elizabeth F. West was born in Woodstock,
CT on 29 March 1857 but didn't go with the family to Holyoke, MA. I hope
this information helps.

a garrison home on the south end of of Alexanders Lake. They had three sons
for sure, James, Samuel, John and possible William. They bought 800 acres
of land at Mashomoquet Brook in 1706 and another 2,000 acres at the Quinebaug
