All ours!

Well, we have finalized Lily's adoption.

What does that mean, finalize? When Lily arrived, technically, we were her guardians - of course India considered her ours. But we had to wait 6 months until we could apply for finalization of the adoption. I don't know why, but that't the way it is.

Once finalization occurs, she becomes a US citizen, and we can apply for additional paperwork to make all her stuff official. It's a very exciting and emotional time, but somewhat of a let down - all you do is go to the judge, sign a few papers, and take photos.

Lyman Paul is not in any of the photos, becuase it was his 3rd grade field trip to Plimoth Plantation - can't miss that, you know.
