the Kovacs Award, named for Ernie Kovacs, will be presented by Edie Adams.
The Kovacs Award is given annually to a contemporary artist who best
represents the comedic vision and spirit of innovation in television in
the tradition of Ernie Kovacs. Past recipients are Joel Hodgson, creator
of Mystery Science Theater 3000, Terry Gilliam of Monty Python fame, Robert
Smigel, animator for Saturday Night Live, and, most recently, Paul Reubens
a/k/a Pee Wee Herman. The recipient of the Kovacs Award for this year is
