Silent Cinema Presentations

Our Mission

Silent Cinema Presentations is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to presenting silent movies with live musical accompaniment to audiences of all ages, in order to preserve the experience of silent cinema.  We produce silent film shows at a variety of venues, and we restore silent films for use at our shows.

We believe in the entertainment value and the cultural and historical importance of silent cinema, and will pass its fun, wonders and traditions on to the audiences of today and tomorrow.

Silent Cinema Presentations, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, and was founded in 2002 to provide funding for and to produce The Silent Clowns Film Series.  The Silent Clowns, New York's only regularly-scheduled showcase for silent comedy film, is now in its sixth year of programming.

Silent Cinema Presentations is supported by a generous grant from the Ira M. Resnick Foundation, and by grants from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), the James A. Macdonald Foundation and the Edward Handelman Fund.

To make a donation and become a "Friend Of The Silent Clowns", you can make your contribution by mailing in your check (made out to Silent Cinema Presentations, Inc.) or you can donate online with your Visa/MC/Amex by clicking on the donate button below.  100% of your contribution is tax-deductible.
