Earlier this year, the producers and creative staff of the SCFS incorporated as Silent Cinema Presentations, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. This was done in order to be able to raise money and solicit donations so the series could continue.

The SCFS subsisted exclusively on box office receipts for its first five years, but just barely, and found this past February that it would be facing having to rent a theater for the fall 2003 season.  Thanks to a new partnership with the West Side YMCA the series has a new home, and thanks to a few generous foundation grants, the series will return for its 7th year of  silent comedy film shows.

Be a Kid Again

When you make a contribution at the Single, Couple, Family, Patron and Contributor levels you will be mailed a "Friends Of The Silent Clowns" card, which is renewable annually.   Just present your "Friends" card at the box office when you attend one of the Silent Clowns Film Series shows, and you will be able to purchase any adult ticket for the children's price of $5.   The names of Patrons and Contributors will be listed in our programs, and  Contributors' names will be listed on the title page of certain programs that require added expenses (film rights, guest speaker fees, etc.) that were covered by that Contributor's donation.
