cathedrals_eclipse.png (58442 bytes)Manifold is just like any $10,000 GIS package, except that it is much easier to use, it works with CAD and other databases in addition to GIS, it's more powerful than most, it's better integrated with Windows, and (best of all) it only costs $145.  Unlike other vendors, manifold.net sells the entire product for $145.   Thumbnail: 11 August total eclipse path and French High Gothic cathedrals.

Check out the Release 4.50 Highlights page and you'll see how much you get for your money with Manifold. There are no extra costs to get access to scripting capabilities (that's included), format converters (also included) or other features.  Oh, yes, you also get the cool ability to map computer networks or just about any other type of network as well.  Neat!  Manifold products have been sold worldwide since 1993. Users new to GIS might wish to see the  Simple GIS Example for a quick orientation.  Heavy-duty GIS people might want to jump directly to a thumbnail summary of Manifold dialogs.

Microsoft MapPoint 2000 Users: Check out the News page for information on using Manifold to author data sets for MapPoint 2000.  If you have teleported directly into this page from another site, make sure to visit our Home Page.

cad_mapping.png (2862 bytes)Manifold is a new type of software to display and manipulate data. It is often used for Geographic Information Systems (GIS), that is,  map drawing and analysis, but it can be used to visualize and manipulate just about any kind of data.  For example, suppose you build PC motherboards and need to track down a heat problem  - Why should you go hunting for component information in some dumb, text database when you can just lasso the desired items visually?

Manifold combines the functions of

sdts_topo.png (10332 bytes)GIS users will see Manifold like a new kind of super-GIS with intense new analytic capabilities no one else has been able to provide.  If you're already using GIS, Manifold is like the "pro" versions of other GIS systems, plus the statistics add-on, plus the "spatial analysis" add-on, plus the "networking analyst" add-on, plus the "geospatial" SQL add-on, and plus a lot more which no other system has.   If you are seriously doing GIS, you need Manifold in your toolkit.   For a detailed look at step-by-step operations with Manifold, check out the Case Studies page.  For a gallery of screen shots, see the Screen Shots page.  For total detail, browse  the Web version of the 4.50 user manual, to see all 900 pages and 1200 illustrations online for your perusal.  There are lots of new products that work with Manifold, so see the Products page as well.sql_toolbar.png (35456 bytes)

Computer networking users will see Manifold as an exploration tool for network structure using graph theory and other network analytic concepts.  Manifold System can automatically create maps of web sites and computer networks.  Manifold can "auto discover" networks using SNMP, TCP/IP and DNS, as well as Windows file systems and Internet web sites.

table_view.png (17006 bytes)Database users will use Manifold to see, select, fetch, and manipulate their data using visual interfaces.  Many data items are related by location, like the components on a motherboard, or by networking relationships, like the pages in a web site.  The wrong way to look at such data is with lexicographic or other dull, text-style displays.  The right way to look at that data is visually, in the form of a map or diagram that shows the locational or networking relationships.  When you see your data as a map, you can instantly grab the right items, which might be impossible to find using ordinary text forms. Thumbnail: Manifold's Table View provides the strongest Database analytic environment in any GIS system.

Database users might like to see tthe Manifold Database Commander page.  It's an awesome new product users of all databases from Access to Oracle to SQL Server will want to have.   Also, check out our 3D View Studio product for intense 3D visualization of data from almost any database.

sql1_dc.png (16212 bytes)Analysts doing demographic analysis, statistical analysis, or data mining of any kind will find Manifold a uniquely powerful tool.  Think of Manifold as a first rate statistics package, including spatial statistics, combined with the easiest-to-use analytic GIS you've seen.

cost_mboard_full.png (11560 bytes)Use Manifold with computer networks, GIS analysis, telecommunications, electric power systems, and many other areas. Manifold provides SQL extended with networking and "spatial" commands, advanced statistics functions and a host of easy-to-use functions for networking analysis and geometry.  Because all difficult concepts are encapsulated in point-and-click "Solvers", you can learn Manifold in under an hour. It's easy to use and fun. Lots of "effects" and cool formatting options make your network look great and instantly comprehensible. Detail (left):   Click on thumbnail to see a CAD "map" of a computer motherboard.   Use Manifold as a "visual front end" for just about any kind of data that's related by location or by networking relationships.

manifold.net provides datasets at low prices and gigabytes of free stuff for GIS applications.  We support our customers with free programming and new custom solvers.   Have you ever wished your GIS or network package had a special feature that would really make your life a lot easier?  Tell us what you'd like to see - new solvers are easy for us to do and we love extending the system.  Manifold has better integration with Windows than old-fashioned, "living fossil" GIS packages originally created for UNIX or other environments.  Want to see details?  Check out our Windows Integration Sanity Test page to learn how to tell if a program is not as well integrated as Manifold.

145.png (3634 bytes)ic_table1.png (5428 bytes)We created Manifold System as something larger than simply a cool new GIS package with better analytics, or a uniquely powerful computer networking package with superior visualization.  We really believe there is a market opportunity for a new type of horizontal software that integrates data visualization with point-and-click analytics and database, so we've priced Manifold so anyone can afford the system.   You can use Manifold   in just about any market involving data mining or analysis.

Detail (right):  Manifold provides a powerful database view of the data "behind" your maps that's completely interactive with the visual, map view.    Visually select items and see the data instantly.  The example table is from the motherboard map in the thumbnail above.
