October, 1984, after the death of Calebourne, I started looking for and buying books on Deerhounds; before, with him and Eoin, in them, they were I thought all I needed for knowing about Deerhounds.  And then Caleb was gone and that gap; nothing fills that.  I turned to pictures and words as a step to go forward.

Discussions on-line in 1997-98, in deerhound-l, encouraged and lengthened my list of sources.  Out-of-print (most of them), hard to find.  So, old English major (Penn State), writer, journalist, at-heart librarian, I found something I could do.  Along the way, some fascinating and sympathetic others, readers, booksellers and dealers have been accepting to become friends and most generous in placing in my hands books on the Scottish Deerhound.  Comments and updates ever welcome.
