 Shrewsbury Homework Connection
During the 1998-1999 school year, the Educational Television received a grant from the Shrewsbury Education Foundation to produce three pilot homework help shows. The purpose of the shows was to assist Shrewsbury students with homework through a live interactive telelevision program.
On April 5th the first homework help show premiered on Channel 58. The show was hosted by High School math teacher, Ms. Patricia Yurkinas. Students called in questions about geometry and trigonometry as the show was broadcast live. The show was produced by Linda Turner, directed by senior Gino Generelli and crewed by students of ETS.
The Middle School Homework Connection show was hosted by Middle School Language Arts teacher Pam Catino, and produced and directed by Melanie Eresian. The show was crewed by students of ETS and by Community producers from Shrewsbury Public Access. The program focused on the elements of a short story.
The Elementary Homework Connection show was hosted by Curriculum specialists Marsha Smith and Terri Caffelle. The show was produced by K-8 video coordinator Maria Feldmar and was crewed by students of ETS. The focus of this program was Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) test preparation.
Shrewsbury Homework Connection Continues!
For the 1999-2000 year the show will be hosted by National Honor Society
students of SHS. The show will be produced by Shrewsbury Public Access Ed Channel Coordinator Liz Poplawski. ETS students will continue to crew the shows. The series will air twice monthly and will focus on Algebra I Part II. Students may call in with their questions and receive help. The next shows are December 7, January 4 & 11.
