"Juniors Anticipate Final Examination in American Studies"
Robert Cormier: Director of Social Sciences

All juniors are required to participate in a three week Performance Assessment Examination. This program is a part of the American Studies program. Each year students are organized into teams of five. Each team is given approximately six items and must work together as a group to discover common themes between them. At the end of three weeks they must make a presentation that summarizes their learning. Many of these presentations are video presentations. Students in the ETS studio work with other juniors in helping them video tape, edit, and create a presentation for this event.

 Surrealism Videos
During the 1998 Spring semester, art teacher Sheri Fried and ETS director, Maggie Korab combined classes to make Surrealism videos. Sheri's art class and Maggie's TV students spent time with Sheri learning about Surrealism, watching a movie with Surrealistic images, and then creating videos. In this collaborative effort, TV students learned about art, while art students learned about television technology.
 Floral Street News
5th Grade teachers are working to create "Floral Street News". Maria Feldmar, K-8 video production coordinator has spent time assisting teachers in planning this program. This show will include news and happenings from the Floral Street School.
