The DCAM is a compact, high-quality video camera with progressive-scan VGA capability, and a fast 1394 bus interface.  It delivers high-resolution, high quality color imagery to any PC equipped with a 1394 interface card, including laptops.

The DCAM performs on-camera color processing, relieving the CPU host of this compute-intensive task.  Color images are available in a variety of formats, including YUV422 and RGB24.

The DCAM Developer's Software is bundled with each DCAM.  It is a high-level API that allows easy access to camera controls and image acquisition.

Sample picture from the DCAM, at 640x480, 24 bit color.
