The art of Nick Ruggieri |
|
Nick RuggieriNick Ruggieri was my great-uncle. He worked as an artist his entire life in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was the art director for the local Harrisburg newspaper, and spent most of his free time on his artwork: painting, drawing, and traveling throughout Europe and the U.S. to observe and photograph new locations and scenes. In 1964 he was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, in London, England. He painted in oil, acrylic, and watercolor, and tended to concentrate on landscapes, both natural and man-made. He liked to depict farms, buildings, cities, bridges, and industrial sites, rather than only natural areas. Nick Ruggieri's artSome Pennsylvania scenes: East Broad Top Railroad,
