In the original house of Dark Shadows script, Maggie's search for David takes her to many other aeas of Collinwood than now appear in the film. One of those places is the first floor corridor outside the card room, where she sees Roger Collins intently reading one of his volumes of Proust. She hesitates at the doorway, debating whether or not to disturb him, and ultimately decides to move on without revealing David is missing. She then meets up with Daphne Budd on the stairway, in a scene which is still included in the film. Interestingly, Maggie's encounter with Roger does not appear in all versions of the script, but it is listed as Scenes 6-7 on the March 17, 1970 edition of the hoDS shooting schedule (6K Zipped/56K Unzipped). |
