Kansas City fans certainly got their money's worth at Kauffman Stadium. Pedro
Martinez(15-3) pitched a rare no-hitter as the mighty California Angels
toppled the Kansas City Royals 2 to 0.

Martinez had overwhelming stuff tonight. He simply never gave the Kansas City
batters a decent pitch to drive. He did not even surrender a walk. What an
evening for the fans. They were on the edge of their seats from the 7th
inning on. With every out, the electricity in the air mounted. The pitchers
took over after the 3rd inning as neither team was able to score again.

Bartolo Colon(8-4) was the loser. Despite losing, he struckout 14 California
batters in 7 innings. 'You probably have a better chance of winning the
lottery than this happening,' said Martinez, 'I don't expect it to sink in
for awhile,' he said. 'I'm numb right now, I'm overwhelmed.'
