The St. Louis Cardinals edged the San Francisco Giants in 22 innings at Busch
Stadium by the score of 7 to 6.
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. St. Louis ended up winning it
in the 22nd inning. Brad Wilkerson tripled. A.J. Pierzynski stepped up next
and he hit a deep fly giving St. Louis the victory as 36,280 happy fans
celebrated wildly. San Francisco had 27 hits in the game while St. Louis had
15, but St. Louis had the more timely hits.
Jeff Weaver(7-2) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. David
