Right fielder Raul Mondesi ripped 3 homeruns and had 9 RBI as the Toronto Blue
Jays were badly beaten by the Baltimore Orioles, 21 to 6.

It seemed that Toronto pitching was serving up softballs for Mondesi to hit.
He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 1st inning, slapped a one-base
hit in the 2nd inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 4th inning, laced a
base-hit in the 6th inning, lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his
12th of the season) in the 7th inning and doubled with all three runners
coming home in the 8th inning. Baltimore provided plenty of action in the
1st inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 7 hits and the 8th inning when they
had 6 runs on 5 hits. Baltimore finished with 24 hits while Toronto ended up
with 10.

The victory was credited to Wade Miller(6-2) who went 7 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 6 runs. Ramon Ortiz(2-7) was hit with the loss. Mondesi said, 'It
was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate tonight. You've
got to take advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple pitches were
definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.'
