No runners had crossed home plate after the regulation nine. Toronto won the game in the 10th inning. Mark Grudzielanek delivered a base-hit. After an out was recorded, Hunter took off for second and slid in with a stolen base. After another out, Rafael Furcal stepped in and he was walked intentionally. Jason Giambi was up next and he drew a walk to load the bases. Chipper Jones stepped into the box and lined a single scoring the run. Jones took second on the throw. Toronto and Baltimore each finished the afternoon with 5 hits. Tomko(3-1) was credited with the shutout. John Smoltz(3-4) was given the loss. He pitched 10 innings allowing 5 hits and 5 walks. 'He had his 'A' game today,' Jim Kies said of Tomko. 'Very impressive performance.'
