Cal Ripken of the Baltimore Orioles broke Lou Gehrig's
record streak of 2,130 consecutive games played Wednesday against
the California Angels.  Ripken began his streak starting at
third base in a May 30th, 1982 game against Toronto.  After 27
games, Ripken moved permanently to shortstop.  The following was
Baltimore's starting lineup for the first game of the streak:
