Weirdest Funeral Ever

Yesterday, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (you know, the ones who give out the Emmy Awards)
held "The Bob Hope Memorial Tribute" to remember one of the great entertainers of the last century.

But if you take a look at the pictures, they just look downright bizarre. Follow the link and you will see page after page of Hollywood's "famous for being famous" from several generations. From Joey Heatherton to Brooke Shields to Tom Selleck. They all look like they have had work done and they are all photographed with their mouths open or otherwise just looking, well, odd.

And as you go through the pictures, the eclectic nature of the guests just gets stranger and stranger. Tony Orlando, Raquel Welch, Shecky Green, Lee Iacocca, Marie Osmond... General Myers from the Joint Chiefs of Staff?

Perhaps this is because Bob Hope was an "entertainer" more than he was an actor or a singer or a comedian. For a comparison, the recent American Film Institute Life Achievement Award to Robert De Niro was celebrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, Jodie Foster, Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis, Edward Norton, Martin Scorsese, Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, James Woods, etc. Now, granted, many of the biggest names that Bob Hope worked with left us long ago. But you would think there would be one or two A-list names at something hosted by the people who do the Emmys.

Or that the people who were there would photograph a little better...
