Below are links to a number of excellent sites that include ideas for
practices including lots of drills that will help keep your practices
focused, progressive, varied and enjoyable. There is also information about
buying some very good books on coaching that include lots of ideas for
practice sessions.
In addition, check the East Hudson web site as the league regularly runs
coaching clinics that are very helpful for planning practices.
Finally, encourage all players to self-practice. This can range from
playing in the yard with a friend, sibling or parent to practicing dribbling
and trapping skills alone. Many of the better players report that as kids
they spent lots of time juggling, dribbling and tossing the ball up and
trapping it while in the yard at home.
