Variation on a Theme
The vague but recognizable meaning of a single glyph can be made more
specific by adding secondary glyphs.
In theory, using two glyphs means that we can turn 400 glyphs into 160,000
words. In practice, some combinations seem rather meaningless, like for example
[sleep][theater] or [handshake][voice]. We could probably find some sort of
meaning to attach to those compounds, but not for anything we discuss with any
regularity, and not for anything that can't be expressed more clearly with some
other combination.)
