Non-Western Symbols

My first choice is to find symbolism that already exists in Western Civilization, but where a gap exists, we can cast our net wider. Every language is a composite of all it's historic influences, so for concepts that are not easily expressed in simple Western glyphs, we can loot the rest of the world.

Chinese

North American Indian pictographs

Adinkra symbols of Ghana

Linear B of Crete

Yes, it's European but it's outside the main line of Western cultural evolution.
