Create a vocabulary list of the following: statistics, variable,

statistics, probability, population, sample, hypothesis testing,
inferential statistics.
Day 2: Read Text §1-3. Do Review Exercises p25, #1-7
through 1-10.
Create a vocabulary list of the following: qualitative variables,
quantitative variables, discrete variables, continuous variables,
measurement scales, nominal level of measurement, ordinal level
of measurement, interval level of measurement, ratio level of
measurement.
Day 3: Read Text §1-4. Do Review Exercises p25, #1-11
through 1-13.
Create a vocabulary list of the following: random samples,
systematic samples, stratified samples, cluster samples, convenience
samples.
Day 4: Read Text §1-5, §1-6 (p. 17 only), and §1-7
Summary.
Do Review Exercises p25-26, #1-16 through 1-20.
Create a vocabulary list of the following: observational
study, experimental study, quasi-experimental study, independent
variable (explanatory variable), dependent variable (outcome
variable), treatment group, control group, "Hawthorne Effect",
confounding variable.
Day 5: Chapter Quiz p. 27-28, # 1-25 (as classwork / homework).
