Each student will be assigned a date where you will have to find a QUOTE pertaining to MATHEMATICS. There are three web sites that I recommend you seek out.
The first is Prof. Julian Fleron's Mathematics Quotation Server out of Westfield State College. Another very good source is the Furman University Mathematics Quotations Server. Still another site can be found at the Platonic Realms Mathematics Quotation Collection. NOTE: Prof. Fleron's site is an excellent source, both for mathematics quotes and quotes pertaining to education in general. You are welcome to find quotes from other sources (in fact, going beyond this particular server is a GREAT idea). If you find other web sources, please share them with the rest of the class. The more options we have, the more knowledge we can acquire.
In addition to simply finding a quote, you will be expected to tell us why you chose that particular quote? Do you like it? What does it tell you about mathematics? You might also discuss the life of the person who the quote is attributed to. Thus, your one-page paper should include the quote and a brief discussion on what you think it means and why you have chosen it.
