Each student will be assigned a date where they will have to:
Access the web site Science @ NASA .
Prepare a 1-page report on the picture or some topic from space science.
Your paper / presentation on your chosen article does not have to be a FULL lecture. Find information that interests you or which could interest the rest of the class and focus on that. You are not expected to become an expert in astronomy for the day, so don't panic if you find you cannot understand every detail about the topic.
Science@NASA is sort of an online newspaper of space science news. There are regular postings of new topics (discoveries, releases of scientists' reports on past space missions, astronomical news such as upcoming eclipses or meteor shows, ...). These postings have links to full stories. Browse the headlines and find a topic that interests you. There is also a search engine connected to the site.
And remember ... you are
not expected to become an expert ...Raising good questions is often as interesting as explaining details! Need help on the format for your paper? Click on
to go to my Journal Guidelines page.
