The Eliot Bridge is located on Pleasant Street, South Natick. Originally, a footbridge built by the Indians in the autumn of 1651, it was 80 feet long, and made of wood on a stone foundation with a 9-foot arch. The bridge was located at a ford or "common passage" of the river, which divided the "Indian planting grounds" and pasturage from their dwellings.
