1964 Prospects: The Notre Dame Lacrosse Club, the newest member of the club sports, begins its first season this year, opening up against Colorado State and the University of Colorado, March 24 and 26.
In its initial season the squad has scheduled the best teams in the Midwest. Heading the list is the Midwest Champs of 1963, Denison, while fast moving and rugged Michigan State and Ohio State are also on the schedule. All three of these teams will be entered in the Notre Dame Invitational Tournament -- the highlight of the season -- on April 17-18.
Team captain Jack Tate, a senior from Allentown, PA , is founder of the Lacrosse Club and has directed its progress. According to Tate the team will be in fine physical condition for its coming games, and he feels that a fine first season is in the offing. The Club has a squad totaling 76 of which a large majority are underclassmen.
