    The 1974 Season
After a large graduation loss, the club was faced with the difficult task of rebuilding along with a difficult schedule. The season started out on a bad note with a 20-5 loss to the Cadets of Air Force. The team bounced back to beat Denver 10-9, only to drop the last game of the spring trip to Colorado College, 15-5. The team returned to the Midwest and participated in the Ohio State Tournament at Columbus, losing to the Columbus Lacrosse Club 10-3. Again the Irish rebounded, this time defeating Ohio State 7-6 in sudden death overtime. The weekend was costly, however, as the stickmen lost two starters with knee injuries, both for the season. One of the casualties, John Corcoran was leading the team in goals and assists at the time of his injury. The injuries and the tough schedule took their toll, as the club dropped four straight before bouncing back with wins over Ohio U, Purdue and Wayne State.
