Rich Mazzei, the current club president, is a senior hailing from Everett, MA and is a goalie for the stickmen. Due to his perpetual enthusiasm for the game and his administrative abilities, the club has witnessed the implementation of many innovative ideas.
Vice-president Tim Walsh is a junior attackman from Havertown, PA. Among his duties, "Woosh" serves as the president's right hand man, and never having played lacrosse in high school, Tim adds a rowdy aspect to the team's practices and functions.
For the first time since the team's founding, tri-captains constitute the club's on-the-field leadership. Pat Clynes has been an "A" team member for his four year career. "The Herb"'s turf is Ithaca, New York, and he serves as the backbone of the Irish attack.
Mike Kinsella is another of the team's tri-captains, is a midfielder that hails from Newton Square, PA. Known as the team's "Mr. Hustle', Mike exemplifies the "never say die" attitude of all ND midfielders.
In his role of captain for the second straight year, Jim Scarola's knowledge of the game and talent have proven invaluable to the club. "Jimmy" comes from Syosset, NY and was the "A" team's starting goalie for the past three years. This year, however, his services were needed at the attack position, and Jimmy handled the transition smoothly.
The experience of such veterans as Pete Buzaid and Mark Carberry will adequately guard the Irish net from intruding attackmen.
With the attack led by two Long Island boys, John Murphy and John Romanelli, opposing goalies will know the meaning of "shell-shocked".
Whether riding or clearing the ball, the success of all lacrosse teams is build on the legs of its midfielders. Senior Billy Sammon and Junior John Gray are among the many well-conditioned and talented Irish middies.
