Annual Meeting Set For January 6
Exeter Inn is the setting for the upcoming annual meeting of the Seacoast Chief Fire Officers Association on January 6, 2005.  Activities begin with a social hour from 6 to 6:45 PM followed by dinner at 7 PM sharp.  Buffet menu items include Chicken Cordon Bleu and Baked Haddock along with assorted salads and deserts.  The cost is $15 per member.  Those planning to attend should R.S.V.P to Susan at (603) 773-6131.


Service Scheduled for Deputy Chief Pratt
Robert J. Pratt Died suddenly at his home in Hampton Thursday, December 9, 2004. Deputy Chief Pratt was a member of Newmarket Fire for 32 years, serving his last 17 years as Deputy Chief. The calling hours are Monday, December 13, from 7pm-9pm at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home in Newmarket. Funeral services are on Tuesday, December 14, at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, Newmarket.


Bylaw Changes Proposed
Seacoast Chief Fire Officers Association Vice President Christopher Leclair proposed a number of changes to the organization's By Laws.  These changes are slated for vote during the annual meeting on January 6, 2005.

Proposed By-Law Changes

Barrington, Dover, Kittery, Merrimac, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and Rochester removed from the Posi-Chek Member List 

Constitution and By-Laws:  Page 4, Article III (Scope): Section III added: Charter Members of the SCFOA Mutual Aid District are: Durham, Exeter, Fremont, Hampton Falls, Kensington, Kingston, New Castle, Newington, Newmarket, Newton, North Hampton and Portsmouth. 

Page 5, Election of Officers, Section III, There shall be a three (3) member Board of Directors

Added: one member being the START Board Chairman. 

Membership: Page 6, Section VI: Associate Members renamed to Advocate Members. 

Committees: Page 7, added

Section III: Nominating Committee. The President shall annually appoint (in November) a Nominating Committee that shall report a state of officers at the annual meeting.

Section IV: Training Committee.  The President shall appoint, as necessary, a Training Committee, whose responsibility it will be to present an on-going continuing education series of programs, to be paid in part by profits from SCFOA’s Annual Golf Tournament (June 2004).

Section V:  By-Laws Committee.  The President shall appoint, as necessary, members to fill three (3) seats on a By-Laws Committee.  The Committee shall annually review the By-Laws, recommending changes at the November meeting for action at the annual meeting.

Under section of Haz Mat Team – START.  Added the wording: Voted January 2004 that START is a subsidiary of SCFOA. 

START – March 9, 2004 Seacoast Technical Assistance Response Team registered with the Secretary of State as doing business under SCFOA.  Expires March 8, 2009.

Bunting – Bunting owned by SCFOA and stored at the Hampton Fire Department, is available for use by any member of SCFOA at no charge.  Exeter Fire also owns a set, which is also available to member departments.

Mutual Aid – March 2004  Voted to form a Mutual Aid District under RSA-154:24-30.  Voted to extend authority by adopting RSA-154: 24-30 A through H (April 2004).

Web Page – February 2004  Voted to design a web site for SCFOA.
